<p>The 1000 validators/1000 cores I mentioned can’t be achieved with JAM, but with a new protocol based purely on ZK.</p>
<p>Ethereum is also researching a solution based on ZK, so if Polkadot stays on JAM forever, it will become obsolete compared to Ethereum in a decade.</p>
<p>So the PNEs in Polkadot should be interchangeable, like Game Boy game cartridges, to make an analogy.</p>

<p>That is essentially what happened.</p>
<p>Relaycode was designed around reusable components. Every pallet parameter has its own input, while wallet connections, chain switching, encoding and transaction submission are shared across the application and can be reused easily.</p>
<p>The original plan was to add an editor for the Revive pallet. But the existing builder interface was too small for writing and managing real contracts. Two days before the hackathon deadline, I scrapped that approach and built Relaycode Studio instead.</p>
<h2><a name="p-40945-introducing-relaycode-studio-1" class="anchor" href="#p-40945-introducing-relaycode-studio-1" aria-label="Heading link"></a>Introducing Relaycode Studio</h2>
<p>Relaycode Studio is a browser-based smart-contract workspace for Polkadot Hub.</p>
<p>It lets developers:</p>
<ul>
<li>Write and manage Solidity contracts in a multi-file editor</li>
<li>Compile for either EVM or PVM</li>
<li>Use OpenZeppelin imports without configuring a local project</li>
<li>Review compiler output and generated artifacts</li>
<li>Estimate gas and transaction fees</li>
<li>Sign and deploy through Polkadot wallets</li>
<li>Move between supported Asset Hub networks without rebuilding their setup</li>
</ul>
<p>There is no separate CLI installation, MetaMask configuration or manual extrinsic encoding required for the normal workflow.</p>
<p>Studio use the same component rails as the builder. It inherits Relaycode’s existing wallet, chain, parameter and transaction infrastructure. The Extrinsic Builder and Contract Studio are now two parts of the same developer platform.</p>
<h2><a name="p-40945-the-road-to-v030-2" class="anchor" href="#p-40945-the-road-to-v030-2" aria-label="Heading link"></a>The road to v0.3.0</h2>
<p>As I mentioned in the previous post, Relaycode was funded through a Web3 Foundation grant with two completed milestones.</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://github.com/w3f/Grant-Milestone-Delivery/pull/1244" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">Milestone 1</a>, now represented by v0.1.0, established the original Extrinsic Builder, dynamic parameter inputs, SCALE encoding and Information Pane.</li>
<li><a href="https://github.com/w3f/Grant-Milestone-Delivery/pull/1310" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">Milestone 2</a>, now v0.2.0, added wallet integration, type-aware inputs, validation, bidirectional decoding and the production deployment.</li>

<p>It had been a while since we shipped a platform-wide update. During that time, the libraries Relaycode relies on, especially Dedot and LunoKit continued to evolve. Polkadot Asset Hub’s transaction requirements also changed.</p>
<p>Relaycode v0.3.0 brings the platform up to date with that work.</p>

<p>Alongside Contract Studio, this release includes a substantial refresh of the existing Extrinsic Builder:</p>

<li>Updated Dedot, LunoKit, Next.js, React and TypeScript foundations</li>
<li>Restored signing and submission on Polkadot Asset Hub</li>
<li>Improved wallet startup and RPC fallback behaviour</li>
<li>Fixed the Information Pane so call data and hashes update correctly</li>
<li>Fixed transactions remaining stuck on “Submitting…” after inclusion</li>
<li>Added clear success notifications after a transaction enters a block</li>
<li>Improved dispatch-error reporting and stale-state handling</li>
<li>Added Paseo and expanded network support</li>
<li>Updated Relaycode’s branding, metadata and browser icon</li>
<li>Expanded automated coverage to more than 1,000 tests</li>

<p>The goal was not simply to update package versions. I wanted to make sure we integrate the work that has happened across the libraries we use and ensure the complete flow, from connecting a wallet to seeing a transaction succeed, works reliably again.</p>
<h2><a name="p-40945-where-relaycode-is-heading-4" class="anchor" href="#p-40945-where-relaycode-is-heading-4" aria-label="Heading link"></a>Where Relaycode is heading</h2>
<p>The Extrinsic Builder remains central to Relaycode. It provides a visual interface for working with runtime calls, including nested calls and complex Substrate types.</p>
<p>Contract Studio expands that idea into smart-contract development.</p>
<p>Together, they point toward a larger goal: a cohesive browser-based developer platform where Polkadot builders can inspect runtime calls, write contracts, connect wallets and submit transactions without stitching together several unrelated tools.</p>

<p>Hi everyone — I’m building PoUC (Proof of Useful Contribution), an independent open-source experiment based on the Polkadot SDK. It is not an official Polkadot project, parachain, or endorsed integration.</p>
<p>PoUC explores how useful and verifiable work—starting with AI safety red-teaming, model evaluation, and privacy-preserving data processing—can produce signed attestations that are anchored on-chain and used for contribution history, credentials, and reputation.</p>

<p>About $310k in stablecoins (USDC/USDT) have been moved from the legacy Treasury account on Asset Hub to the current Treasury account. Note this was done permissionlessly; any account can call the ahOps.transferToPostMigrationTreasury extrinsic to transfer funds from the legacy account to the new one.</p>

<p>Some of you might have read my previous articles. It’s almost 100 days from my first post.</p>
<p>Today I saw X users <a href="https://x.com/CryptoHeroBTC" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">@CryptoHeroBTC</a> and <a href="https://x.com/SirPolkadot" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">@SirPolkadot</a> asking for the Polkadot Phone until Polkadot or Gavin Wood responds. It’s really exciting to see something like this while I am already setting up the base for the real blockchain phone.</p>
<p>I am curious about what the Polkadot community really wants, rather than just Polkadot apps.</p>
<p>You may have fresh ideas, innovations, or completely different ways of thinking about what a blockchain phone should be.</p>
<p>I have my own set of ideas, but I wanted to first build a proper blockchain that can have/access features of each and every blockchain in the world.</p>
<p>The idea is that it can solve problems of any chain on demand, so our smartphone can have access to everything from the blockchain industry without moving away from the main goal.</p>
<p>That’s why I started building <strong>InterLayer Blockchain using Substrate</strong>.<br>
A new OS, Rust-based mobile apps, and Android compatibility are already in development too.<br>
AI frontier models gave me super powers to build faster.</p>
<p>While building, I understood how complex this project actually is to explain and present, because it combines multiple components and projects, some of which can also work as standalone projects.</p>
<p>So far, only one person understood the entire project as I predicted before — <strong>Shankar Warang</strong>.</p>
<p>He may take care of blockchain operations while I can focus on building the entire stack.</p>

What do you really want from a Polkadot Phone?

<p>Thank you for weighing in. I agree that a verified signature from the original Moonbeam EVM address could provide a straightforward way to prove ownership of stranded xcDOT. The Moonbeam explorer is still available and, as far as I can tell, balances and addresses can still be verified, so a transparent list of affected accounts should be possible.</p>
<p>The key point is that xcDOT represents <strong>native DOT</strong>, not simply an abandoned Moonbeam token. Users should not lose their native DOT because the chain hosting its representation was shut down.</p>
<p>In my case, my xcDOT is my <strong>entire lifetime DOT holding</strong>. I don’t have a single DOT anywhere else. I’d really hope Polkadot/OpenGov can find a trustless, verifiable recovery mechanism rather than leaving these assets permanently stranded.</p>

<h3><a name="p-40874-h-1-dotns-4" class="anchor" href="#p-40874-h-1-dotns-4" aria-label="Heading link"></a><strong>1. DotNS</strong>:</h3>
<p>The name service has been migrated to a new set of contracts. Every `.dot` name has been migrated, <strong>so you keep your registered names.</strong> However the app records attached to them  were re-created from a snapshot of the old deployment, and most apps came across intact. Not all of them did, and we cannot guarantee yours is one of them.</p>
<p>After you update, open your app in the Polkadot app or via https://.dev-dot.li. If it loads, you are done. If it fails to load, shows “Can’t find product”, or shows an older version, republish it:</p>

<p>Older releases of `pad` and `dotns` still point at the retired DotNS contracts, and a publish through them succeeds without error while nothing changes for anyone on the new apps. Anything you might have published or registered on the old deployment after the snapshot was taken is not on the new one, so republish that too.</p>
<p>Your data on Bulletin is not affected. Republishing only rewrites the pointer on your name.</p>
<h3><a name="p-40874-h-2-cdm-5" class="anchor" href="#p-40874-h-2-cdm-5" aria-label="Heading link"></a><strong>2. CDM</strong></h3>
<p>The contract registry is moving to a new address: 0x05662b3dbd5dd9f2ff92d67630477e84b0b37c1f. The CDM contract registry is being redeployed to fix a failure when publishing a brand-new contract name.</p>

<h3><a name="p-40874-upgrade-steps-6" class="anchor" href="#p-40874-upgrade-steps-6" aria-label="Heading link"></a><strong>Upgrade steps:</strong></h3>

<p><strong>Update your tooling.</strong> The registry address ships inside the CDM packages, so most of this is handled by moving to the versions we publish after the redeploy: <span class="mention">@polkadot-community-foundation</span>/cdm-cli and <span class="mention">@polkadot-community-foundation</span>/cdm-env. If you pull the CDM address from an SDK or preset rather than writing it yourself, you only need to update it.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p><strong>Regenerate your cdm.json.</strong> Your project file pins the registry at the top level as “registry”: “0x59b0…”. Updating the package does <strong>not</strong> rewrite that pin. Re-resolve your dependencies so the new address is written in.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p><strong>Then check anything custom.</strong> Only addresses you wrote by hand, outside the tooling and outside cdm.json, need manual attention.</p>
</li>
</ol>
<h3><a name="p-40874-important-7" class="anchor" href="#p-40874-important-7" aria-label="Heading link"></a><strong>Important:</strong></h3>
<p>The old registry stays readable after the switch, so nothing breaks at cutover. But it cannot be frozen, and anything registered on it after our snapshot will not appear in the new registry. <strong>Do not register new contract names on the old registry.</strong></p>
<p>If you keep pointing at the old address, you will keep reading an old registry with no error to tell you.</p>
<h3><a name="p-40874-descriptors-need-re-pinning-8" class="anchor" href="#p-40874-descriptors-need-re-pinning-8" aria-label="Heading link"></a><strong>Descriptors need re-pinning</strong></h3>
<p>After the runtime upgrades land, regenerate and re-pin your chain descriptors for Bulletin, Asset Hub, and People. Publishing or querying with stale descriptors fails at decode.</p>
<p>Specifically, the Bulletin authorization structure changes shape. The value bytesPermanent moves from the top level into a nested extra field. Anything that reads authorization extents by field name breaks until re-pinned. Your published data is not affected, only the way it is read.</p>

<p>Nightly and Beta all users have it enabled and we’re ramping up support for it on release to 100% over the next few weeks. It’s currently at 10%, but if you don’t see it enabled now, you can flag it on with <code>brave://flags/#brave-wallet-polkadot</code> (our progressive release will flag this on by default for more people as we go)</p>
<p>Next up, we’re working on adding a swap/bridging provider for polkadot as well, but I’m a bit concerned about the number of assets available (It looks like it’s mainly just USDT/USDC/DOT) with the potential provider so open to adding multiple if there’s recommendations from people here. Who do you primarily use?</p>
<p>I just finished with the security review for asset discovery and DApp support is coming after that.</p>
<p>Once we’ve got that in place, we’ll start running the NTT ads for this. I know people are upset that this took longer than our grant estimated. On the bright side, because we’ve been adding more users the ads will produce more impressions potentially converting more users.</p>
