The project involves creating graffiti artworks featuring the Kusama logo in various cities, commencing with Barcelona. The process encompasses designing a template, and paint it with black spray in urban locations. Each graffiti piece will then be photographed and transformed into a non-fungible token (NFT), minted on the Kusama blockchain.

In the future, we anticipate individuals utilizing our template to make their own graffiti in different cities, financed by the treasury and upload it to the blockchain. Each graffiti point needs to be geolocated, enabling visits to these locations as if they were sanctuaries during travels. A symbolic gesture of reverence—bending the knee in front of the Kusama logo—is encouraged. Cities must have a population exceeding 2,000,000, and once a city is adorned, it cannot be repeated.

Inspired by Foucault's analysis of panopticism as a power mechanism, we propose subverting this paradigm. Placing the Kusama logo strategically in urban settings transforms it into a symbol of rebellion—an inversion of the panoptic gaze. Each graffiti piece disrupts passive surveillance, converting public spaces into active sites of resistance. Drawing further inspiration from Paul B. Preciado, our graffiti project becomes a performative act challenging conventional discourse surrounding public space.

To sum up: A swift template of the KSM logo, creating graffiti, capturing it in a photo, uploading the NFT on StateMine, and geolocating it for others to visit and bend the knee.

I am asking for a tip for my merged subxt pull request "Support loading keys from Polkadot-JS accounts". https://github.com/paritytech/subxt/pull/1661 It is very common for users to create their Polkadot accounts using the Polkadot-JS browser extension. Subxt is the primary library for implementing Rust programs that sign and submit extrinsics for Polkadot chains, but it did not support this popular account file format. I examined the Polkadot-JS source code to determine the encoding. The password is hashed with Scrypt and then the ciphertext is decrypted with XSalsa20Poly1305. I would greatly appreciate a tip of 32 KSM. Is this reasonable?

I present this proposal on the authorization of the curators of bounty 25.
This proposal seeks to continue funding of Public RPC Providers for the period of six months plus an additional month's contingency. Funding is issued to bounty 25 which awards vendors for RPC services on the Kusama relay-chain as well as its system parachains. The total cost for such provision is USD$107,237.98, which represents $12,397.21 per month without contingency and administrative fees.
Bounty 25 adopts an tender based procurement model in which service providers bid on requirements as set-out by the curators. The tender requirements are aligned to ecosystem needs and can scale up/down depending on usage. Tenders are scored and the highest scoring providers receive funding. Attention is also being placed on quality of service and should service providers fail to meet said quality-standards they will be penalized or lose funding altogether.
This approach has seen a reduction with independent funding proposals for such services and steering of providers to a "market rate".

Funding for Public RPC Providers via Bounty 25

KSM trading has started on Hydration after referendum #490 approved 33,333 KSM in Treasury LP, allowing liquidity between Kusama and Polkadot chains. When transferring assets between the two chains, if a user doesn't have enough KSM/DOT, a portion of the asset is swapped for the native token to pay fees. However, the current liquidity is not enough, causing users to lose more assets to fees than expected. A new proposal aims to provide 333 KSM to a 2/2 multisig with signers Leemo & lolmcshizz. This will be split between Kusama AssetHub and Polkadot AssetHub to provide a base level of liquidity on each network, ensuring users only pay expected fees when making transfers. Any extra tokens will be returned to their respective treasuries.

KSM trading recently went live on Hydration after referendum #490 (<a href="https://kusama.subsquare.io/referenda/490)">https://kusama.subsquare.io/referenda/490)</a> approved 33,333 KSM in Treasury LP. This has finally opened up liquidity flows between the two chains.
When transfers are made between the two using the Kusama &lt;&gt; Polkadot bridge, if a user does not have sufficient KSM/ DOT (depending on the chain) on the receiving network then a portion of the asset they&rsquo;re sending (e.g. KSM from KAH to PAH) is swapped for the native token to pay for fees. This is excellent UX and prevents user frustration with having to collect fees before bridging assets - however, unfortunately the current liquidity leaves much to be desired and as a result users can get rekt by slippage and lose much larger amounts of their assets to fees than expected.
This proposal, if approved, will supply 333 KSM to a 2/2 multisig with signers Leemo &amp; lolmcshizz - which combined with referendum (<a href="https://polkadot.subsquare.io/referenda/1479">https://polkadot.subsquare.io/referenda/1479</a>) on Polkadot, will be split between Kusama AssetHub and Polkadot AssetHub 50/50 to provide a base level of liquidity on each network. This will ensure that there is sufficient liquidity for these small swaps and users will only pay the fees they are expecting to when making transfers.
Any excess tokens will be returned to their respective treasuries.

we introduced CocoWallet, building on the success of [CocoMercado](https://www.cocomercado.com/landing/), a remittance-based food service that’s supported Venezuela’s elderly through 7,000,000 expats. Now, CocoWallet is tackling financial exclusion in Colombia by launching debit cards with Bloque for the unbanked—and we’re bringing this to Kusama.

Our goal is to onboard 3,000+ unbanked Colombians in the next few months. Here’s how we’ll do it on Kusama:

-   **Decentralized Design:** Funds will be held in non-custodial wallets on Kusama’s Asset-Hub, with all debit card transactions pay fees in KSM. No banks, no centralized control—just user-owned value.
-   **Kusama Benefits:** These 3,000 new users will become KSM holders, boosting adoption. Each card swipe will generate on-chain micro-transactions, increasing network activity and rewarding validators.
-   **Scalability:** After this pilot, we’ll scale to 10,000 users across Latin America by 2025, funded by transaction fees but no endless treasury asks. Banks are obsolete. We want to drive a transformation that enables every organization to provide financial services—starting with a debit card. We aim to free finances for people, and to do this, we need your support. 

# FAQ

-   **Why funding us?** We are an experienced team with a proven record of building Web3 products. Now, we want to use Kusama in everyday cases worldwide.
    
-   **Which regions are supported?** Mainly LatAm starting in Colombia & Mexico with worldwide availability via Passport.
    
-   **How will this API handle key material since the wallets are non-custodial?**  
    We use a combination of proxy accounts with defined spending limits. In addition, the “debit callback” endpoint with 3D Secure prompts users to authorize (i.e., sign) transactions—effectively meaning the user “sells” crypto to us so that we can complete the payment on their behalf. Our security model is based on Shamir’s Secret Sharing: at setup, the holder sends us one part of the secret while keeping the other part secure across multiple devices. When a transaction is authorized, the two parts are combined to complete the transaction.
    
-   **How are redemptions processed?**  
    Today’s redemption channels include Brale Rails (conversion across 10+ chains to USDT/USDC), a DEX liquidity pool for KSM/dUSD, and direct debit card transactions.
    
-   **Do day-to-day COP inflation swings pose a risk?**  
    Yes, they can. To mitigate this risk, we maintain only small COP buffers in the bank while holding most of our treasury in USD.
    
-   **How will the system mitigate potential volatility given that settlement can take several days?**  
    Limiting USD buffer sales to twice daily (e.g., morning and afternoon) may expose us to unexpected volatility. Ideally, we offload USD as frequently as market conditions allow. When that isn’t feasible, we rely on compensation accounts, short-term COP buffer loans, SWIFT transfers, and OTC channels to quickly convert USD into COP liquidity.
    
-   **How would a chargeback or clawback be handled?**  
    **_For same-day chargebacks_**—such as paying $5 with KSM for an Uber ride and then canceling—the system applies an adjustment credit by deducting $5 from the USD buffer, converting it to KSM, and crediting your account. **_For delayed clawbacks_**—like purchasing a $20 card with KSM on Temu but receiving a faulty product—we detect the issue via Visa’s invoices and balance sheets. In the next payment cycle, we net the amounts between our accounts; for instance, if we owe Visa $100 but receive $20, we pay only $80, converting the extra $20 into KSM and crediting your account.
    
-   **Whats the relationship with Virto?** BloqueDAO is a Virto-spinoff established as a self-governing DAO in Kreivo. We’re leveraging on the Kreivo technology to support non-custodial management of the funds every user tops-up in their Kusama Pay cards.

- By now, we completed 6 Web 3 Foundation grants meant to fund the development of ParaSpell's common good tools. This goes to show our dedication to the topic and the community. ## Aim of this proposal:

The proposal aims to aid server costs and maintenance for the 🥇 first [XCM API](https://github.com/paraspell/xcm-tools/tree/main/apps/xcm-api) and [XCM Visualizator](https://github.com/paraspell/xcm-tools/tree/main/apps/visualizator-fe) in the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem. Maintaining XCM API, [XCM ROUTER](https://github.com/paraspell/xcm-tools/tree/main/packages/xcm-router) and XCM Visualizator also include maintaining its core component - [XCM SDK](https://github.com/paraspell/xcm-sdk). These common good tools along with [XCM Analyser](https://github.com/paraspell/xcm-tools/tree/main/packages/xcm-analyser), [XCM Playground](https://github.com/paraspell/xcm-tools/tree/main/apps/playground), [Documentation](https://github.com/paraspell/docs) and [Landing page](https://github.com/paraspell/xcm-tools/tree/main/apps/site) will be fully maintained for the mentioned period starting on 1st February 2025 and ending on 1st August 2025. This proposal allows all tools to remain completely free for the entire Polkadot and Kusama communities. It also allows ParaSpell team to dedicate time to help other teams that wish to implement XCM Tools.

Subscan is a comprehensive and widely-used explorer and indexer within the Polkadot / Kusama ecosystem. It provides developers, validators, parachain teams, and general users with critical data insights—enabling efficient on-chain operations, debugging, and decision-making. We have previously received funding from the Kusama Treasury for infrastructure and development costs, ensuring that the platform remains stable, accessible, and continuously evolving.

In earlier funding cycles, we relied on a reimbursement model closely tied to API usage and traffic distribution. This often resulted in cost volatility and estimation inaccuracies. To improve fairness, predictability, and transparency, we have refined our pricing model based on storage usage—an approach that correlates more reliably with total costs and has been successfully tested over the last year.

### **Scope of This Proposal**

**Q2/Q3/Q4 Maintenance (5 Networks)**:

These networks benefit from high-quality data indexing, stable uptime, accurate block and transaction data, NFT indexing improvements, and reliable APIs that developers and validators depend on daily.

### **Cost Optimization and Historical Metrics**

Our previous proposal for 5 networks over 3 months totaled approximately USD 41,230.47, averaging USD 13,743.49 per month. Through targeted optimizations—improving indexing algorithms, refining caching strategies, and consolidating infrastructure—our monthly average costs have decreased by about 14.12% for the Q2 , landing at approximately USD 11,803.33 per month.

Our maintenance packages are designed to address a variety of data needs, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Given the complexity of our overall cost structure—which includes expenses for GCP, Cloudflare, Datadog, Onfinality, Dwellir, and Subscan’s team operations—we use storage as the primary metric to determine fees. Storage usage strongly correlates with total costs and fluctuates as new blocks are produced. To maintain fairness and accuracy, we use the median storage value measured on the 15th day of each quarter to establish the quarterly baseline fee.

# Summary

[Bifrost](http://bifrost.io/) is a Liquid Staking app-chain tailored for all blockchains, utilizing decentralized cross-chain interoperability to empower users to earn staking rewards and DeFi yields with flexibility, liquidity, and high security across multiple chains. Built on the Polkadot SDK, Bifrost uses Polkadot’s cross-consensus message format (XCM) and other decentralised cross-chain communication protocols such as Layerzero, and Hyperbridge, providing standardised cross-chain liquid staking solutions for multiple chains. Bifrost is currently one of the largest Polkadot parachains in terms of Total Value Locked (TVL) with over **$77M**. It also has the largest TVL for liquid staked DOT (vDOT) with over 7.5M DOT ($45M). # Why Bifrost?

This Initial liquidity subsidy is fundamental in keeping sufficient liquidity for vKSM and enabling more support for broader use-cases across the ecosystem particularly Polkadot (**DOT <> KSM bridge will be supported soon**).

The renewal of this liquidity loan would ensure the continuity of benefits achieved from our previous proposals for the broader Kusama ecosystem and community (below are **comparisons between last few years’ proposal and presents in terms of achievements and present developments**):

**Chain Abstraction for KSM liquid staking**

Bifrost SLPx streamlined the complex process of bridging funds to destination chain, allowing users to liquid stake on any chain without leaving UI to interact with bridges. The ultimate goal of SLPx is to allow users and developers to effortlessly use or integrate Bifrost LSTs on any chain.

# **Motivation**

As our original intention stated in our first proposal remains unchanged, Bifrosts long-term goal is underpinned by the following objectives:

- **Facilitate Capital Flow of KSM staking**

KSM, as the governance token of Kusama, about 53% of the total amount of KSM is currently in staking. **Bifrost hopes to activate the capital utilization of staked KSM while empowering the security of the Relay-chain consensus, and promote the activity of Kusama Staking.** Thus, Bifrost has enhanced [its liquidity staking solution](https://github.com/bifrost-finance/bifrost/tree/develop/pallets/slp) with XCM V5 for Staking KSM: vKSM, a liquid staking token that is anchored 1:1 with staked KSM and comes with KSM staking income. Bifrost hopes to borrow 50,000 KSM from the Kusama Treasury as the base liquidity.

- **Empowering KSM staking across Kusama and Polkadot**

In the fourth quarter of 2024, Bifrost is expected to support bi-directional cross-chain between Kusama and Polkadot. Bifrost SLPx—a Bifrost chain abstraction protocol—will connect to Bridge Hub and package XCM cross-chain messages, ultimately enabling **one-click minting of vKSM on Bifrost-Polkadot**.

This development brings two major advantages: firstly, it provides Polkadot users with more LST options; secondly, not only vKSM, but more Parachain Staking assets can be transferred to Bifrost-Polkadot via SLPx.

- **Enhance the consensus security of Kusama network and reduce the threshold for users to participate in staking**

Bifrost achieves decentralization and an alpha user experience for vKSM through the following aspects:

**Decentralized staking process**:

Bifrost uses keyless sovereign-derived addresses to execute remote staking via XCM, ensuring the staking process is completely decentralized. **Validator Diversification**:

Currently, vKSM engages [120](https://bifrost.app/vstaking/vKSM?tab=validators) validators in the relay chain, with an average of 24 validators for each delegator. All these validators are selected through Bifrost's dual-selection model outlined below.

**Dual-model validator selection**:

Bifrost employs **opengov + automatic scoring** for validator selection, enhancing diversity, efficiency, and transparency. Validators are divided into Validator White List (VWL) and Validator Boost List (VBL). VWL is generated by a rating algorithm, while VBL is formed through independent node applications and community voting. SLP only entrusts user assets to these listed validators.

Leverage vKSM use cases on **Polkadot**.

Once KSM <> DOT bridge is live, Bifrost plans to expand vKSM applications on Polkadot. This initiative will utilize Interlay Value, Hydradex omnipool, and DCA strategies, mirroring the successful approach implemented with vDOT.

- To illustrate, one of Interlay's vDOT vaults has secured 48,801 DOT as collateral. Investors in this vault are currently benefiting from a substantial combined yield of 37.26% APR, comprising 21.12% vault APR and 16.14% vDOT APR. ## On-chain instruments used to provide liquidity to this proposal

1. **Bifrost Stable Swap** This is designed to facilitate related exchanges between Bifrost liquid staking tokens “vTokens” and Token that are expected to have similar values, such as vDOT-DOT, vETH-ETH, vKSM-KSM, etc.

Why **Bifrost Stable Swap**?

- As Bifrost liquid staking tokens “vToken” is a yield-bearing token, its value will gradually increase over time compared to the corresponding Token value. Therefore, the liquidity supply anchor of vToken and Token in AMM should change with the vToken exchange rate to avoid loss for liquidity providers. The following is a comparison between **pegged stable swap** and **Correlated stable swap**

Why **Hydration Omnipool?**

- Hydration, the largest DEX across Polkadot with over $4.5M TVL, offers the best trading experience in the Polkadot ecosystem from several angles:
 - Omnipool: It allows users to trade against native asset or non-native asset, under a concentrated liquidity pool.
 - Single Token liquidity Mining: Users no longer need to calculate the required amount of bilateral liquidity in advance as before; they can simply add unilateral liquidity to the Omnipool.
 - Yield DCA: Hydration's Omnipool and DCA Trading are able to fulfill the exchange and automated trading needs between vKSM and any Token with ultra-low slippage.
 - Incoming features around Money Market and Stable Coin base on Omnipool.

# Managing the funds and Repayment process

Tracking Borrowing and Repayment Process

Bifrost will complete the borrowing/repayment process of the 50,000 KSM subsidy through a fully open and transparent process on Kusama and Bifrost governance.

**Borrowing Process**

- Kusama side

1. Apply to Kusama treasury to borrow 50,000 KSM to the ParaId2001 (F7fq1jMmNj5j2jAHcBxgM26JzUn2N4duXu1U4UZNdkfZEPV) beneficiary through the (Treasury::propose\_spend) method of the treasury module on Kusama.

- Bifrost side

1. Generate Bifrost treasury derived address via Utility::derivative_account_id method;
2. Through the Tokens::set\_balance method, an additional 50,000 KSM will be issued on Bifrost treasury derived address;
3. Transfer 50,000 KSM from Bifrost treasury derived address to the treasury (eCSrvbA5gGNYdM3UjBNxcBNBqGxtz3SEEfydKragtL4pJ4F) address via the Tokens::force\_transfer method;
4. Mint 25,000 KSM into about 25,000 vKSM via VtokenMinting::mint method;
5. Add 25,000 KSM and corresponding vKSM liquidity to Bifrost Stable Swap.

1. In the actual transaction, steps 4 and 5 need to be called through the utility.dispatchAs method.

1. Remove liquidity from DEXs, retrieve the liquidity of the KSM-vKSM trading pair to the treasury account;
2. By calling the VtokenMinting::redeem method, vKSM will be converted back to more than 25,000 KSM with 18 months staking rewards;
3. Initiate a proposal on Kusama to repay an estimated 55,437 KSM to the Treasury: Transfer approximately 55,437 KSM (equivalent to one year's staking rewards of 25,000 KSM at an estimated 14.5% APR) from Bifrost Treasury to Kusama Treasury via XCM;

Treasury proposal: KSM liquidity subsidy for KSM liquid staking token - vKSM

The KSM Collective on krievo has proposed using treasury funds to create an initial liquidity pool for KSM and dUSD on AssetHub. The goal is to boost dUSD adoption, strengthen Kusama's DeFi ecosystem, and generate fees for the KSM Collective. They are requesting $300,000 plus a 10% volatility buffer, with any excess being returned. Brale has committed an initial $300,000 in dUSD to match the requested KSM allocation. The beneficiary is the KSM Society organization on krievo, and the LP fees will be retained by KSM Collective and Brale. The first usage will be the exchange of Brale's $125k fee from KSM to dUSD, with the beneficiary being the Decent Partners collective.

**Summary**

This proposal seeks retroactive funding of $125,000 in KSM to reimburse [Brale](https://brale.xyz) for completing the integration of their community driven stablecoin issuance platform with Kusama AssetHub, which establishes a significant public good, unlocking exciting new opportunities for collectives.

By leveraging the Kusama-Polkadot bridge, Brale allows any organisation operating on either network to issue US regulated and yield generating stablecoins that can be exchanged at zero cost across 15 connected blockchains.

The first stablecoin is decent/dUSD and it has been minted on Asset Hub with ID 50,000,002.

Brale have onboarded to krievo, joining the Decent Partners collective alongside decent, Virto and KSM collectives.

They are committing their KSM fee to driving adopton of dUSD.

A concurrent proposal requests [a KSM liquidity subsidy](https://rfc.decent.partners/t/liquidity-subsidy-for-ksm-dusd-liquidity-pool-on-kusama-asset-hub/62) for kickstarting a KSM:dUSD trading pair on Asset Hub.

Brale are committing $300k of dUSD to the pool.

Showcasing Polkadot’s Capabilities: The Spammening Test Run

- Four accounts lost funds due to a bug in Kusama's runtime version 1.1.0.
- The bug caused assets to be lost instead of being trapped during cross-chain transfers.
- The lost funds were due to insufficient delivery fees being deducted from the accounts.
