<p>Honestly, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter? I’ve already unstaked everything and plan to sell everything because Polkadot seems to be going nowhere but down.</p>
<p>This forum is practically dead. Reddit is dead. X is dead. Development has been stayed on practically every scheduled release. There’s no communication from any one for the current roadmap for either network, it’s basically a ghost town. Who cares about security at this point? Security for what?</p>

Truth

<p>Honestly, we have stopped directly comparing with PolkaVM because it’s just slow in our charts. Our development process also revealed a lot of situations where PolkaVM just only publishes benchmarks that favor themselves, and tries to “cheat” on others. (Check the repository for all the specific performance “tuning” that they’re doing, and independent third-party results showing that they’re 10x slower in some situations.)</p>
<p>A lot of the claims made by JAM is rather a question mark, and my only suggestion is that you should verify it by yourself. Create your own workload (but not using their “specifically optimized” workloads), and run the bench yourself.</p>
<p>We don’t plan to talk with the original PolkaVM developers. Their questionable behavior is what prompted us to fork JAM Chain and launch JAR Chain in the first place. But we’re talking on technical levels with interested JAM implementer teams directly (due to their involvements in JAM Prize, we won’t say more).</p>

<p>Hey there, I’ve been working on a implementation of the SCALE codec in solidity, <a href="https://github.com/LucasGrasso/solidity-scale-codec" class="inline-onebox" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">GitHub - LucasGrasso/solidity-scale-codec: An implementation of Polkadot's Scale-Codec in Solidity · GitHub</a>.<br>
It currently does not support encoding/decoding of an arbitrary pallet call, but it provides the necessary primitives for it, and encoding/decoding for XCM v5 instructions.<br>
Im interested in listening to your feedback, I think it plays nicely with the XCM precompile and can be extended to more use cases.</p>

<p>This is to advise you that the Polkadot community is currently voting to upgrade the <a href="https://kusama.subsquare.io/referenda/651" rel="noopener nofollow ugc"><em>Kusama system</em></a> to the <a href="https://github.com/polkadot-fellows/runtimes/releases/tag/v2.3.0" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">v2.3.0 release</a>.</p>
<p>This is a major runtime upgrade that introduces a <a href="https://github.com/polkadot-fellows/runtimes/pull/1193" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">flexible minimum validator set size on Relay chains</a> and lowers the default limits to 100 validators for Kusama and 250 validators for Polkadot.</p>
<p>The projected enactment date for this runtime upgrade is around 15th June 2026.</p>

<p>Small update: the binary size comparison table is now updated to compare the correct thing – actual code sizes. Previous version contained a bug where we generated correct but uncompressed images with a lot of zeros.</p>

<p>The fixed version shows an even more significant gain of PVM2. Note: <a href="https://forum.polkadot.network/t/risc-v-is-all-you-need/17804">PVM2 is standard RISC-V (+c)</a>. So this really reaffirms our conclusion – <strong>the custom PVM ISA is unnecessary and actually much worse than PVM2 (standard RISC-V)</strong>. PVM2 (standard RISC-V) beats PVM on binary size, and performance is better or equivalent.</p>

<p>Parity and W3F reputation is breaking down and showing its true colors, if no-one can compete how the network how is it supposed to grown? we are living with that now, i can see this going the way EOS went. changes are needed and true leaders should engage, who will launch the technology to the masses is unknown yet, they have been trying for years, even creating their “own” paid community and they failed even at that. probably all of this starts at the top. leaders need to come down to where we are, not high with their inflated egos.</p>

<p>I’m glad you’re trying to improve the experience using precompiles in Polkadot!</p>
<p>Have you taken a look at <a href="https://lucasgrasso.github.io/solidity-scale-codec/" class="inline-onebox" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">Solidity Scale Codec</a> ? It solves the strongly typed interfaces part. You could use it or contribute back to it.</p>
<p>Address registries are good idea to make the process simpler.</p>
<p>I don’t know what validations could be done at this SDK layer, I imagine it depends on the precompile, but it’s definitely worth exploring.</p>
