Looking forward to contracts on the Hub! But before this upgrade that is part of the Plaza initiative that Kusama never voted for, I would have liked to see a WFC to pretend Kusama is independent and not the testnet. It's nice to have the illusion that us token holders decide on the future of this chain ;)

[@BILL](JFArxqV6rqPSwBok3zQDnj5jL6vwsZQDwYXXqb1cFygnYVt-kusama) 🤔 kind of, but let's say it's not quite the same for the sake of argument, I think in the root track submitted by a token holder sure, but IMO is wrong if it's the fellowship pushing for the change saying, hey! here is this big thing we did that you didn't ask for, can you approve it? isn't the contract with the technical body supposed to be the other way around? they listen to our wishes and then they act, at least for non trivial changes.

Sometimes token holders won't know what they want or what's better, so if the technical body has a good idea of what to develop it would be nice to see once/twice a year a roadmap people can vote on, this could also come from large token holders like the W3F that is now pushing for Kusama only developments. It might be helpful to also re-visit the state of our technical body to make sure it can deliver on said roadmaps, the current Kusama fellowship is in a bad state, it's an old/out of sync snapshot of the Polkadot one which doesn't mention Kusama in its manifesto and doesn't count Kusama work as valid contributions for retention/promotion(reason I left), I think Kusama has a lot to show for itself so having it's own group of incentivized technical experts(they can still overlap with Polkadot's) can give token holders the certainty the network is in good hands and going in the right direction(no necessarily the exact same as Polkadot's).

Anyway, it's just a minor rant to hopefully keep improving processes and give Kusama more agency.

Daniel, no.  It is time to stop pretending.  Lose the illusion.  Test the code with real economic value on Kusama.  Get live on Polkadot.  Get it done.

I might be stubborn(perhaps delusional?), I know Kusama has a lot to improve on but still is the corner of the internet that I believe has the most potential to better represent the true ideals of Web3, an illusion that made it worth to quit my job years ago. Ideologically for me Kusama is the better Polkadot and although the terrain is harsh I feel like at home, I'm sure building in the right place ;)

- Smart contracts on AssetHub => great news (at least we are excited about it)
- People holding tokens should get their words: Kusama should follow its own main interests not be simply polkadot testnet
