WFC: W3F please turn off content monetisation on YouTube. Ruins the Summit vibes. Not very Web3. Won't solve revenue. Thx

Dear Proposer,

Thank you for your proposal. Our first vote on this proposal is NAY.

The Wish For Change track requires 60% quorum according to our voting policy v0.2, and any referendum in which the majority of members vote abstain receives an abstain vote. This proposal has received two aye and two nay votes from ten available members, with two members abstaining. Below is a summary of our members' comments:

The discussion centered on a request for W3F to disable YouTube content monetisation, with participants expressing mixed views. Some supported the proposal with lighthearted comments and admitted agreement, while others raised doubts about whether W3F intentionally monetized the videos or if monetisation was simply a default setting on YouTube. A few voters questioned the appropriateness of the forum for such requests and suggested that alternative communication channels might better address the issue. In the end, the concerns over seeking a different approach prevailed, and the overall decision ultimately reflected a rejection of the proposal.

The full discussion can be found in our internal voting.

Please feel free to contact us through the links below for further discussion.

Kind regards,
Permanence DAO

We were not aware of it. This seems to just be a default that wasn't turned off. We are removing it now.

I agree that an on-chain Referendum for something like this is overkill (although obviously allowed!). If someone sees something like this, the easiest thing to do is just to let us know.
