This is a follow-up proposal on what we submitted in December, to further fund the development of the RPC services and to cover the maintenance costs of it.
This new proposal includes two Milestones.
Milestone 1: Continue to run the Kusama and Statemine RPC services on dedicated hardware, to increase the performance of the services.
Milestone 2: Continue to develop, support, and push open source code to improve the RPC Performance toolkit. (This toolkit can be used for all Substrate based nodes.) For this next Quarter we aim to implement Improved Workload Modeling and Test Plans.
Our Kusama RPC node served on average 5,570,105 requests per day during the last quarter.
In our last Kusama Treasury Proposal we received a grant to troubleshoot and analyze the performance issues of the RPC nodes.
We have published a report about our findings and developed an RPC performance toolkit for node operators.
Thanks to the work we have done with the performance toolkit our RPC service capacity and stability has now increased.
