AIWeb3 Community Feedback on Proposal
After discussions on AIWeb3's Twitter Space and feedback from the community, the AIWeb3 community has decided to NAY the proposal. Below are the main points from the community:
The team has neither responded to nor participated in our community Twitter Spaces, which raises some doubts about the project.
The applicant's Twitter content is not particularly impressive.
There is no evidence of successful previous activities, and it's unclear how this project will contribute to the Kusama ecosystem.
Community Activity Information
We hold discussions on Kusama proposals every Tuesday at 10 AM Beijing Time on AIWeb3 Twitter Space. Everyone is welcome to join these discussions. Additionally, you are encouraged to join our Telegram group to ask any questions. If we support any proposal, the AIWeb3 community will also provide services and collaboration for building the Chinese community, and we are willing to help project teams establish a Chinese community, hoping for more successful projects in the Polkadot ecosystem.
If your proposal is rejected, don't be discouraged. We welcome proposers to join our Twitter Space to share the highlights of their proposals. There are also many other Kusama DV who might support your proposal.
1.How will Polkadot and Kusama participate? There will be two topics during the event. The first topic will be a talk focused on Polkadot and its role in the gaming sector within Web3. We will discuss products already running on Polkadot, such as the migration of Mythos Chain from Ethereum to Polkadot and the games Mythos has implemented on its chain. Other games, such as Exiled Racers, will also be discussed.
2.In the second topic, which will be the technical workshop, the mentor will cover networks like Kusama and Polkadot. The workshop will include the implementation of the Polkadot Play.Unity SDK and will also address how to use Kusama for test networks, as some parachains have done, for example, Ajuna Network with its test network on Kusama called BAJU.
To ensure the participating audience understands the workshop, the mentor plans to conduct a more specific and less in-depth workshop. This will allow interested parties to digest the information well and understand it step-by-step. The mentor is qualified to conduct these workshops as he has won various Polkadot hackathons.
3.In my talk with the audience, I will explain in detail about Kusama and Polkadot. Since Kusama is a test network with value, I will clearly outline the differences between the two networks. I have previously participated in several conferences discussing Polkadot and Kusama, and when explaining that the two networks are similar, I emphasize that Kusama is a test network where initial updates or innovations first go through Kusama, and once they are free of implementation errors, they are then implemented on Polkadot.
4.Regarding tokens and wallets, we will use Polkadot.js for the technical workshop and for activities within the event for the general public, we will use Nova Wallet and Telenova on Telegram. This approach worked well for us in April during an event we participated in related to women’s entrepreneurship, where we used Nova Wallet and Telenova to distribute tokens and interact with the ecosystem. Using these simple tools helps us ensure that newcomers do not get lost in the learning process. We will assist people in creating their wallets and give them tokens to test them.
5.Why Monterrey? Monterrey is a state in Mexico with technological advancements, and many developers working with different programming languages are based there. Therefore, participating in the event helps us connect and build relationships with the participating universities and plan future courses for developers in Monterrey, bringing them closer to Polkadot. Although the Kusama logo is not present, since Polkadot will be participating in the event, we will be able to discuss both Kusama and Polkadot. The Polkadot logo is small due to the involvement of other partnerships, but all participating logos are of the same size.
6.How will we measure participant engagement? When participants create their wallets, we will give them a small percentage of tokens and NFTs that we plan to create for event participation. We will also take photos of each user who creates their wallet to have evidence of participation. The NFTs will be created on the Kusama AssetHub using Kodadot.
7.We have spoken with the event organizers, and the talks and workshops will be streamed by them on their social media platforms such as YouTube. Therefore, the educational content will be saved, and the photos and recordings will be available. We spoke with the organizers this week, and they will provide us with all the recorded content so that we can also upload it to our social media, in this case, YouTube.
8.The organizers were particularly interested in the Polkadot Play Unity SDK because they saw the article about Pokémon Go implementing Polkadot Play in the game. They are interested in having the audience learn about this implementation and apply it to their games or future blockchain-based games. The Unity SDK is a solid foundation to demonstrate that Polkadot is a great technology for gaming.
9.Yes, we will conduct a satisfaction survey both for the talk and the workshop to measure participants' interest and which topic caught their attention the most. We always conduct satisfaction surveys at all our events.
10.In my case, as the presenter, at the end of my presentations, I will share my social media and the official pages of the Polkadot Mexico community so that attendees can join and contact us. This way, people can join our community and we can maintain close communication with them. For the other two members of the team, since there will be a Polkadot booth at the event, one person will be responsible for assisting attendees in creating their wallets and explaining some DApps of the ecosystem, while the other will assist the mentor of the technical workshop in guiding those following the workshop steps. All three of us will be actively engaging to attract people to Polkadot.
11.The advantage of participating in this event is that a Digital Bank will also participate, which is very beneficial for us as it provides an opportunity to teach them about the Polkadot ecosystem. These financial startups seek technological innovation, and participating in the same event allows us to establish relationships and potentially drive some innovations on their platform while showing them DeFi in the ecosystem. For example, Mercado Libre in Mexico has implemented a cryptocurrency wallet on its platform; a Digital Bank could do the same, given the Fintech Law in Mexico allows digital assets in Mexican financial platforms. This helps advance the sector’s knowledge of Polkadot. As mentioned, we do not yet have agreements with them, but as they will participate in the event, we will have the opportunity to introduce them to the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. Our goal for this event is to attract developers and users, and if we have the opportunity to establish relationships with Billu, it would be a win for the ecosystem.
I believe that this type of proposal should be submitted to and review by the Spanish bounty. However, the team informed me that they did not apply for the Spanish bounty because they already have another event proposal in process. For this reason, and due to the importance of this type of events in Latam, I consider that it should be supported by the Kusama community and by me as DV.
