Polkachu recently released an update on its popular unofficial Thousand Validator dashboard by adding node location info and suggestion box to each node profile.
One of my nodes scored 0 out of 20 in the location score. With the help of the site, I became aware of that and moved the node to a more unique location. As a result, my node gained 17 points and the network also benefited from the further decentralization.
Here is the full release that Polkachu announced on Kusama/Polkadot 1kv Element channel:
"I have updated polkachu's 1kv board with a new release. Thanks to ccris02's survey, I have realized that the dashboard is quite popular among the community, so I'd better keep up.
- To support the continued decentralization of 1kv program nodes, the node location and 1kv location score have been added to each 1kv node profile.
- To help each 1kv node to improve score, a suggestion box has been added whenever a meaningful score improvement is possible on an element under node operator's control (e.g., self-bond, node location and unclaimed eras)
- The survey feedback correctly pointed out that sometimes the dashboard was empty. The issue was that the data caching happened when the W3F API service was down. I have made some backend changes so the data caching will skip when the API is down and retry in one hour until the data is obtained for the era. This should solve the issue. Thanks to the anonymous feedback from ccris02's survey.
- Knowing that a council stake element will be added soon, I have updated the backend so the element will be live as soon as 1kv program starts incorporating this element in its scoring."
