Creating your own Token compatible with the DotSama environment is much easier than you might think. For this purpose, the Common Good Parachains Statemint at Polkadot and its sister Statemine at Kusama were created. Both work the same way. The difference between each is versioning.

While at Statemint we have an audited version that meets the standards required by Polkadot, at Statemine we can find new features not yet audited, but fully functional and accessible to everyone, meeting the requirements of the Kusama canary network, which serves to test in real market conditions. the news that will one day be available in Polkadot.

In this video, Bruno Skvorc (former W3 Foundation Technical Educator and founder of RMRK) explains the step-by-step process of creating a fungible Token using one of Statemint's previous versions, published on the Rococo Testing network (which you must pass before going to Kusama).

At the moment only Statemine (at Kusama) is 100% operational for creating Tokens. To make this operation you will have to enable your Kusama Wallet for Statemine and transfer KSMs there (to cover the existence deposit and the amount of KSMs that must be locked for the creation of the Token).

After creating your Token, it can only be transferred to other accounts within Statemine itself.
