They are requesting a maintenance fee for the last four months (September 2021 to December 2021). They use three Hetzner VPS servers and two Contabo VPS servers for hosting and development. The total server cost for the four months is $210.48. Statescan has been continuously developing and maintaining the product, including integrating Statemint, improving performance, enhancing features, fixing bugs, and creating monitoring scripts. They are requesting $7,000 for one developer's work over the last four months. The total cost is $7,210, and they will alternate between Kusama and Polkadot for payment every four months. They will use the 30-day average rate from Subscan to calculate the total KSM allocation at the day of submission.

This will help node operators and validators with a functioning infrastructure. The service includes daily snapshots, a website frontend at polkashots.io, and redundant implementation setup. MIDL.dev regularly generates these archives for their own benefit and the community, with all cloud automation code used for snapshot generation being open-source. The website has been operational for a year, providing Polkadot and Kusama pruned snapshots for validators. The labor cost is 660 EUR/month, and cloud costs are passed along with a 30% markup. The proposal is for the Kusama portion of polkashots, and a similar proposal will be submitted to the Polkadot council.
