Hello! Jiro here from Bitskwela ๐Ÿ‘‹

Crypto is HUGE in the Philippines

7 Million Filipinos own crypto, 1 Million own NFTs, and we've done USD 1.86 Billion in volume during 2021. We're currently in the top ranks when it comes to cryptocurrency adoption worldwide. Proud to say the team and I at Bitskwela have been a significant contributor to this adoption rate.

At Bitskwela, we solve two things: the lack of proper educational avenues for crypto and the vast language barrier in the Philippines.

Over the past year, we've done countless workshops, learning sessions, events, online activations - you name it - all towards Web3 education in the Philippines. We've even been featured by CNN, ANC, Esquire, and other major publications — without spending a single cent! All this is a testament to our effectiveness for Web3 education.

Bitskwela is one of the two pioneers in PH Web3 space featured by Consensys

So, what's with the post?

Long story short, we've been in the Philippine market for over a year. In that period, we've had tremendous momentum in both the public and private sectors. We've partnered with the likes of GCash, Globe, TikTok, DICT, OKX and many more. We've also reached significant milestones in our online and offline reach, spanning from the different islands in the Philippines with millions of Filipinos of various cultures.

The other month, we attended CoinFest 2023 in Bali, Indonesia, where we met Cris from Polkadot Insider. Discussions happened leading up to this post. Bitskwela, alongside the support of Polkadot Insider, would like to drive Polkadot's reach and presence in the Philippines. And we need the community's support in order to do so.

Why Polkadot?

Because Bitskwela believes that the future is multichain; the team believes that Polkadot is one of the true manifestations of Web3 right now — a truly decentralized internet composed of not only one blockchain, but many. And we want the Filipino people to know that.

What can you expect from us in the next 6 months?

In the following week, Bitskwela will submit a small-spender funding proposal to help us mount different planned Polkadot initiatives, alongside Polkadot Insider, in the Philippines. This proposal consists of the following initiatives planned for the next 6 months:

  1. Localized Short-Course on Polkadot
  2. Bite-sized Educational materials
  3. Local Market Research
  4. Short-Form Content Marketing
  5. Event and Workshop placements
  6. First Polkadot Connect Philippines
  7. Local Polkadot Community establishment
  8. Press Releases
  9. Business Development Assistance for the ecosystem

All these are geared towards bringing more awareness, reach, and understanding to Polkadot and what it offers for every Web3 Filipino.

The full proposal can be found here.

What now?

Given all that, we would love to receive feedback, comments, tips (or even encouragement! haha) from the Polkadot community on how Bitskwela can best help Polkadot for the Philippine market.

Best,

Jiro of Bitskwela
