Our Vision

In the spirit of fostering inclusivity and diversity within the blockchain and web3 space, our vision is to help women attend their first web3 conference, learn about innovative blockchain solutions and participate in their first Hackathon. We will not only help those women hack but bring together other women attending the conference for engaging panels and hands on technical + non-technical workshops introducing them to Polkadot and the ecosystem. Our goal is to foster the growth of women founders, investors, and developers in web3. Whether it’s their first hackathon or their tenth, we want to create a safe, inclusive and engaging space for them to innovate and participate.

Success Metrics:

  1. Educate and engage 100+ people (with majority being women+) about Polkadot and it’s ecosystem through our workshops.
  2. Facilitate the activation of 50 new Polkadot wallets within our target demographic.
  3. Onboard 50 individuals to Polkadot NFTs through live activations.
  4. Educate about builder resources and connect those interested in building on Polkadot to opportunities
  5. Achieve 10 sign-ups from women for Polkadot's Blockchain Academy program

Agenda Outline

Preparation Phase (January 2024):

  • Identify and secure Polkadot facilitators for workshops at our Hackerhouse
  • Develop comprehensive educational materials including hacker kits
  • Initiate a targeted marketing and outreach campaign to finalize BULIDathon participants

Workshop Phase (February 2024):

  • Conduct a virtual educational workshop on Polkadot technology and use cases and finalize hackathon teams.
  • Provide continuous technical/non-technical support to prepare attendees

Hackerhouse @ EthDenver (February 29 - March 3, 2024):

  • Facilitate participant attendance, providing travel sponsorships, accommodation, and logistical support at hackerhouse
  • Encourage and guide participants in developing projects
  • Host Polkadot workshops and networking socials each day.
  • Facilitate Polkadot side event with 80+ attendees

Post-Event Follow-up and Community Building (End of March 2024):

  • Organize a comprehensive follow-up session to discuss project outcomes and learnings.
  • Establish an interactive online community platform for continued engagement.
  • Introduce community to the Polkadot Blockchain Academy program
By supporting this initiative, Polkadot not only contributes to a more inclusive web3 space but also becomes a beacon for diversity and empowerment in the blockchain industry.
