Hello KSM token holders! I wanted to give the ecosystem a progress report on this project to give assurance that the treasury funds are hard at work! I’ll start off by providing a timeline of events:
As you may have noticed, the market dipped quite severely shortly after our proposal was submitted on-chain. This resulted in the project receiving $7,761.98 less than our projected costs for the first two phases. To compensate for the realized loss, hour allocations were reduced and Steeber Solutions will be fronting the costs for the project management tools and node infrastructure. Our team is dedicated to delivering tangible results before asking for funding for phases III and IV, but keep in mind that the next funding request may need to come sooner than anticipated and will include compensation for this realized loss.
We are using ClickUp for Project Gweihir management and it is proving quite useful, especially after upgrading ClickUp using the treasury funds. We have a clear payroll process and the team is fully onboarded on project workflows, including reporting on deliverables. ClickUp is task-specific which helps with organizing conversations and progress updates. This report is a direct result of the team using ClickUp properly and regularly.
As we get closer to finishing the first two phases, we’ll be able to report on how many work-hours were spent in the various categories of the project. These reports will help us in planning future phases of the project while providing token holders a clear overview of how the treasury funds were utilized.
Our lead developer has been hard at work establishing the infrastructure necessary to build out the external adapter. An overview of some of the tools we’re using can be found in this article. Here are some of the tools the Gweihir project is using, will use, or is inspired by:
Our frontend developer has been hard at work creating a unique branding front for the project. A website is important in ensuring users of Gweihir have easy access to documentation and that the general public has access to a clear overview of what the project aims to accomplish. He’s been playing around with AI generated art to elevate our branding without breaking the bank on designer fees; see example below:
We have a working Vercel app hosting our prototype but it is still under construction. We hope to have an MVP of the website complete by the time ETH Denver rolls around so that we can start marketing the project to Ethereum users/developers. At a glance, our website will have the following pages:
We understand the importance of networking to ensure that we are connecting with the best players in the industry. We hope our networking connections will help us in utilizing the best technologies and services available for Gweihir. Our biggest focus right now is ETH Denver - our networking specialist, Nick, conveniently lives in Colorado and has secured a ticket to the event! I understand that some big players in the Kusama ecosystem will be in attendance at this event as well, so I’ll be sure to refer Nick to those individuals. Nick has submitted an application to speak; however, the timing of the deadlines weren’t ideal for Gweihir. Despite applying after the deadlines, we still are optimistic about our speaker application.
Additionally, Steeber Solutions is looking at local professionals and businesses in the Green Bay area to potentially leverage their services. We attended a networking event recently and made some exciting connections with some local tech companies that might be able to hone in our devops for Gweihir. Specifically, we met with members of the NTech and Tanduo teams. While we don’t know exactly how these companies might serve the project, it is important to us that we work with professionals that we can meet face-to-face.
I hope this report gives KSM token holders a good understanding of our progress thus far. If you have any questions, comments, or feedback, please feel free to comment in this discussion or reach out to Steeber Solutions directly: [email protected].
Thanks!
