Short description: The goal of the project is to create a decentralized blockchain snapshot repository. Anyone can upload blockchain snapshots to the repository, and anyone can download the snapshot files to quickly deploy a chain node.

Problem Statement
There is a lack of a general snapshot service in the Polkadot ecosystem.
A universal snapshot download solution would allow users to quickly and easily download the current state of all parachains and solochains in the Polkadot ecosystem. This would be useful for developers and users who want to interact with these chains without having to sync the entire blockchain from scratch. However, at the moment, there is no such solution available that supports all parachains and solochains in the Polkadot ecosystem.
Centralized snapshot service operation and maintenance costs are too high.
Centralized snapshot service operation and maintenance costs can be prohibitively high due to the need for large amounts of storage and computing resources to manage and process the data. Additionally, the cost of maintaining the security and reliability of the service can also be significant. These costs can make it difficult for a centralized snapshot service to be financially sustainable, especially if it is offered for free or at a low cost to users.
About Subshots
We believe that there is currently a lack of a universal snapshot service that is able to support all parachains and solochains in the Polkadot ecosystem. So we designed Subshots - a decentralized blockchain snapshot repository. Snapshot files are stored on a decentralized storage network instead of a cloud storage platform such as Amazon S3. Anyone can upload snapshot files, anyone can download snapshot files for free.
