Treasury Proposal : Funding for Gavin Wood documentary / portrait

Hello Kusama Community,
My name is Lovisa Björna, and I have the last months been filming and recording a lot of material from Gavin’s day-to-day life, which I have been closely intertwined with for the last three years.
I started recording some of the conversations we were having a while back, tapping “record” whenever something particularly interesting came up. Partly for me to remember later on, and to eventually be able to turn this material into something educational for the general public.

I believe the moment has now arrived, and I am looking for a modest amount of funding from the Kusama treasury to purchase better recording equipment and, down the line, be able to hire a professional film editor to present the material properly. I’m also looking to onboard 2-3 people with experience in directing, sound design and art direction to pitch the film to film festivals and other media outlets. I am seeking 550 KSM / 13,271 USD to cover full production costs. The goal is to present a documentary film portrait of Gavin next spring.

Due to the nature of the material, the project will not be focused primarily on explaining the details of the ecosystems, i.e. I won’t add any infographics as other people and projects can do that better.
As it looks now, it is intimate “behind the scenes” material that shows him simply living, thinking and working. The conversations/interviews mainly treat themes of technology, specifically the introduction of new technology and how it works, philosophical enquiries around personal and collective freedom, state building and infrastructure, the responsibility of technologists and builders, and societal commentary and personal values. I will link a preview in the comments section.

Before posting the complete application to the Kusama Treasury, I am interested in hearing if there are any specific themes/settings the community would be especially interested in exploring.

Any questions, in particular, you would like answered?
Any critiques or other comments?

Lovisa
