My name is ecardo5o and I present the NFTretas program (in Portuguese it would be like saying NFT messes). Joining me is another ambassador, Raphael Kling. We are both Brazilians and at this first moment we are targeting the program only for Portuguese speakers.

We started the shows as a way to document various conversations we started having about NFTs between ourselves and others involved with different industries and social realities in our country.

In the middle of this process we discovered the real purpose of this project. Which is a process of discovering and documenting new use cases. And we consider Brazil to be a very interesting place for that. Because we have both the reality of developed countries and all the problems of the third world.

Despite having the format of a conversation between friends, the subjects covered are always very dense and we have already discussed topics such as:

  • Copyright in Music and NFTs

  • Copyright in Cinema and NFTs

  • Collective Financing and NFTs

  • DAOs and NFTs

  • Digital Art Market and NFTs

  • Traditional Art Market and NFTs

  • Policies for the Conservation of Collections in Museums and NFTs

  • NFTs as a new art form

  • Social Context of NFTs as a way to promote the entry of small producers into the futures market

  • NFTs as property titles in favelas

And many others to come...

I decided to write here about NFTretas as a way to expose more of what we're trying to do and collect ideas on how we can bring the program closer and closer to the Polkadot and Kusama Universes. With this established over time, we aim to build an identification between the subject NFTs with Kusama and Polkadot brands in our country.

In fact, we already do this through branding and news coverage.

But I think we can go further:

  1. Interviews with Key People in the Ecosystem - This would be a good idea but it would need to have some way to do simultaneous translation, since the programs are live. We can start making recordings, but the result would not be the same.

  2. Subtitling (in English and Spanish) - I think it would be really nice for everyone to understand the subjects we are talking about, but as they are long programs I think we can do this in highlights (edited cuts).

  3. Documentation and Research - Preparation of editions that collect thematic cuts from various programs (with subtitles in Portuguese and Spanish) as a way to make this material available to everyone as a research deliverable. This material can serve as an inspiration for new use cases, understanding the perspectives of Portuguese speakers about this new technology and even understanding cultural issues involved in the Brazilian reality.

We are currently running the program on an experimental basis and we would like to thank and ask for support from the Councils of Polkadot and Kusama (with tips) so that we can continue this work.

As we collect more interactions, suggestions and community collaborations here, we hope to turn all these ideas into a structured project.

We would like to thank everyone for their attention.
