Subsquid Lab is requesting 1,340.48 KSM to support the ongoing costs of running high-performance, scalable, and reliable data indexing infrastructure for the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. This infrastructure is essential for providing access to on-chain data in GraphQL format for all major parachains on these networks. The Archives, as they are called, are used as a data source for Squids and for efficient data exploration and ad-hoc queries. The list of Archives is kept in a public Archive Registry.

In Q2, Subsquid released a new generation of Archives, named "Fire Squid," which includes significant performance improvements. These improvements allow for faster deployment of new Archives, support for batch requests, and the ability to trace the origin of proxy, sudo, and batch calls. Subsquid has also been working on adding features like EVM Transactions indexing and subscriptions to queries in the Graphql endpoints of indexing projects created with the Subsquid SDK.

Between September 3, 2022, and September 30, 2022, Subsquid's Archive infrastructure served approximately 129 million queries, with a 7-day average of over 5 million queries per day. The data from October confirms a linear trend, allowing for assumptions about the query growth in July and August. Polkadot/Kusama staking tools proposal

Polkawatch has recently launched decentralization analytics on Kusama and support for Nomination Pools. The community is becoming more aware of the importance of decentralization in the ecosystem. Interest has increased due to a recent deplatforming event of Solana nodes by a network operator. Other teams, such as Wallets, Parachains, and Data Scientists, are also interested in accessing the data to help raise awareness. Parachains, while secured by the relay chain, are still vulnerable to censorship and would benefit from decentralization analytics. Polkawatch aims to bring parachain support to their platform, along with continued operation and minor improvements. The proposal has been discussed and community feedback has been incorporated. Snowbridge is a bridge between Polkadot networks and Ethereum. They want to get funding for 28 months to operate and launch on Kusama and Polkadot. The bridge will be on the Bridge Hub, a parachain being developed by Parity. Snowbridge is trustless and permissionless, which means it is secure and anyone can use it. They want to make sure that assets on Polkadot and Ethereum are safe and can be used across both networks. The team has been working on Snowbridge for over 2 years and has already built an initial version. They have a plan for the future, including updates and security checks, and will launch on Kusama in April 2023 and Polkadot in July 2023.
